Makeup primers can be a girl’s best friend. They act as a base for makeup that helps it last longer, blur pores and smooth skin texture. Others boost hydration, plump the skin, and soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Many are silicone-based and contain the ingredient dimethicone.

Primers are applied after skincare and before makeup. It doesn’t take much to do the trick, less than a dime-sized amount will do.
